Olga Sokolova

Mixed media, collage, children’s illustration, abstraction @olri.geos

My name is Olga Sokolova, I’m an art historian, writer, and artist.

I write and illustrate my own books, ranging from children’s detective stories to explorations of mythology.

In art, I’m drawn to the spontaneous expression of the unconscious, ancient archetypes, mystical symbolism, and unexpected contrasts. I don’t limit myself to any single style or technique – I mix materials and love working with found and reused objects, from collages to drawings made on old cardboard packaging.

About the sketchbooks

Art books as a way to explore and find one’s own style – through experiments with materials, techniques, and ways of thinking.

Like in life, nothing exists on its own. Everything is layered with meanings, stories, past, and future. That’s why traces of both personal and collective history always show through in the present, even if we don’t fully understand them. A tea bag or a torn, rain-soaked poster can become the background for da Vinci reproductions or images of deep space.

Because in the end, we’re all made of the same stardust.
